Inauguration of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance Containment

The WHO Collaborating Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance Containment was inaugurated on the 24th of August, signalling the official start of its activities.

The Centre is designated by the WHO to support in developing the strategic direction of global containment of antimicrobial resistance, focusing on monitoring and surveillance.

The inauguration started with an opening statement by the Minister for Health Care, Public Health and Sport, Mr Gabriel Wikström, followed by a discussion on the goals and activities of the Centre in the context of international collaborations.
