We are pleased to announce the forthcoming 2007 European Scientific Conference on Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology (ESCAIDE). The conference will take place from Thursday October 18th to Saturday October 20th 2007 in Stockholm, Sweden. The conference is jointly organised by ECDC (European Centre for Disease Control and Prevention), EPIET (European Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training), EAN (EPIET Alumni Network) and TEPHINET EUROPE (Training Programs in Epidemiology and Public Health Intervention NETwork).

The target audience for the conference includes epidemiologists, microbiologists, clinicians and public, veterinary and environmental health experts with a professional and scientific interest in applied infectious disease epidemiology. In addition, the conference aims at bringing together members of the National institutes of Public Health, Dedicated Surveillance Networks (DSNs) and EPIET-FETP fellows and alumni.

Abstracts are welcomed in the area of applied public health research, outbreak investigations and evaluation of public health surveillance. We also welcome other areas in applied epidemiology or public health practice in which results are linked to public health action.

Further details of the conference, call for abstracts, and various information on travel and accommodation directions, are available on www.escaide.eu
