Publicly available reports about tobacco products

Before a tobacco product may be placed on the Swedish market, manufacturers and importers must report the ingredients of the product to the Public Health Agency of Sweden. Information provided that does not constitute a trade secret is made available to the public on this page.

Tobacco products reported to us

The following Excel file lists the tobacco products that have been reported to the Public Health Agency of Sweden. But this does not mean that we have checked that the products fulfil all the requirements for being placed on the market.

The Excel files only include products that are currently on the market in Sweden, i.e., products whose launch date has passed and where there is no withdrawal date.

The files are updated once a month and display the date of the most recent update.

At the top of the Excel file you will find the text "Publiceringen 2019-xx-xx omfattar de produkter som rapporterats till Folkhälsomyndigheten till och med 2019-xx-xx", meaning the publication 2019-xx-xx includes the products reported to the Public Health Agency until 2019-xx-xx.

Reporting requirement for tobacco products

Before a tobacco product may be placed on the Swedish market, manufacturers and importers must report the product and its ingredients to the Public Health Agency of Sweden via the EU-CEG (the EU online portal for product and ingredients reporting).

Regulations governing the information we make public

The publication of information about reported tobacco products is governed by the EU Tobacco Products Directive (2014/40/EU). The purpose of the Directive is to ensure the general public gets information about the products on the market.

That means that our website must display the information provided when a product is reported to us. We must not publish information that constitutes a trade secret. These provisions are set out in Chapter 2, paragraph 1 of the Ordinance on Tobacco and Similar Products (2019:223).
