In-person Network of EURLs Meeting, Luxembourg 22-23 May 2025
This is the first meeting of the Network of EURLs, composed of representatives of the first nine EU reference laboratories for public health (EURL-PH) designated by the European Commission.
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the coordination and needs of the newly designated EURL-PH, to support their functions.
The EURL-PH-ERZV participated in this two-day conference, bringing together the European Commission, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), and EURL coordinators. The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration, developing effective coordination practices, and establishing priorities for laboratory support across the European Union.
With a total of 56 laboratory experts in attendance, this groundbreaking meeting represented a milestone in the EU's collective efforts to strengthen health security preparedness. The EURLs for Public Health is set to play a pivotal role in boosting the EU's laboratory capabilities and leading initiatives for the early detection and prevention of communicable disease outbreaks.
