Training on whole genome sequencing and bioinformatics, Stockholm, 2-5 November 2026
A hands-on training course focused on viral whole genome sequencing and bioinformatics will be offered by EURL-PH-ERZV in 2026, providing participants with practical experience across the full sequencing workflow.
Following the strong interest in sequencing-related activities in 2025, including both training courses and twinning visits, this initiative responds to the continued demand within the network for practical skills development in this field.
Course overview
The training will take place at the Public Health Agency of Sweden in Stockholm on 2–5 November 2026.
Over four days, participants will be introduced to the complete sequencing workflow – from laboratory procedures to data analysis and interpretation. The programme combines lectures with practical laboratory sessions and bioinformatics exercises, providing an overview of amplicon-based sequencing and approaches for analysing viral genomic data.
Target audience
The training is primarily intended for laboratory professionals working with, or planning to implement, sequencing technologies. Participants are expected to have previous hands-on experience in molecular laboratory methods.
Further details will be shared via email with Operational Contact Points (OCPs) within the network shortly.
