Antibiotic Smart People and Community Engagement
To prevent and control antibiotic resistance, we need engagement and action in the whole society. Everyone has a role to play. Antibiotic Smart Sweden works to understand the factors shaping behaviour and to develop the most effective ways to engage citizens and communities.
We want to strengthen knowledge and provide opportunities for engagement. This means involving many different actors and listening to the needs and perspectives of diverse groups in society. Through patient and child rights perspectives, we are exploring outreach through pharmacies, patient organisations, educational settings, primary care centres, and through the visual arts.
In the fall of 2023, ReAct, Uppsala Antibiotic Centre and Antibiotic Smart Sweden led educational webinars and a workshop promoting systematic and meaningful engagement of communities and civil society groups as key stakeholders in the global response to antibiotic resistance.
