Where do you notify your sale?

It is important to know where to notify your sale. Here’s what applies:

  • Retailers with a physical point of sale who have their registered office or place of business in Sweden must apply for a permit in the municipality where the physical point of sale is located. The notification requirement also applies to duty-free shops that sell tobacco-free nicotine products. This applies to all duty-free shops located on Swedish territory, for example at Swedish airports.
  • Retailers who do not have a physical point of sale but have their registered office or place of business in Sweden must apply for a permit in the municipality where the company has its registered office.
  • Retailers who do not have a physical point of sale or a registered office in Sweden must apply for a permit in the municipality where the company has a permanent place of business.

Please note that even if you only sell tobacco free nicotine products to consumers in a country other than Sweden, the sale must be reported to the municipality.

Do you need more information about how to notify your sales with the municipality? Contact the municipality where you need to make your notification.

If you do not have a registered office or a permanent place of business in Sweden, you must register your sales with us.
