Security features with authentication elements on tobacco products

Unit packets of cigarettes and roll-your-own tobacco supplied to consumers on the Swedish market must have a security feature consisting of at least five authentication elements. On this page you will find examples of the security features used on the Swedish market.

Three of the authentication elements on the security feature are explaned and highlighted. These elements are visible by the naked eye or by magnification.

	1. Guilloche. An ornamental pattern consisting of several intertwined bands.
	2. Colour-changing-ink. Authentication element that changes colour when you look at it from different angles. It changes from golden to colourless when you wiggle the security feature.
	3. Microprint. Extremely small text that requires magnification to be readable. Written in CAPS without spaces or punctuation: AUSTRIAFINLANDSWEDEN.
