How to protect yourself and others – COVID-19 recommendations
This is a summary of what you need to do to protect yourself and others from being infected with COVID-19.
Take responsibility for preventing the spread of infection
Everyone has a responsibility for preventing the spread of COVID-19.
Get vaccinated to protect yourself
The vaccination offers strong protection against serious illness from COVID-19.
The Public Health Agency recommends that everyone aged 50 years and above get vaccinated against COVID-19. We also recommend people aged 18 years and above get vaccinated if they belong to a risk group for severe COVID-19.
The number of doses you are advised to take depends on how old you are and whether you belong to any risk group.
Vaccines are also available for people aged 18 years or older, even if they are not covered by our recommendation.
At the website 1177.se you can read about vaccination procedures in the region where you live.
Vaccination against COVID-19 at 1177.se
It is very rare that healthy children and young people become seriously ill with COVID-19. People under the age of 18 may be offered vaccination against COVID-19 in consultation with their treating physician if they have a disease, condition or diagnosis that could make them seriously ill when getting a respiratory infection, or if they have a markedly impaired immune system.
